According to Bloomberg, AI transcription startup Wispr AI Inc. is in talks for a new round of financing, which could value the company at $2 billion, more than double its valuation of $700 million in November last year.

This round of financing is expected to be led by Menlo Ventures with a size of about $260 million. The deal has not been finalized, and terms could still change, with representatives from Wispr and Menlo declining to comment.

Wispr's core product is the voice transcription tool Wispr Flow. It is part of a group of startups transforming the voice-to-text experience with AI, with the goal of making input faster and more natural than typing on a keyboard.

Wispr's products have already gained usage scenarios among engineers, especially for inputting prompts and questions to AI agents through voice, which allows it to be directly embedded into AI application workflows. Reports indicate that Wispr is used by employees of tech companies such as NVIDIA and Amazon.
