China Accelerates the Layout of Embodied Intelligent Infrastructure, Promoting the Large-Scale Application of the Robot Industry
On May 22, the National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference, releasing significant policy signals in the field of embodied intelligence. The spokesperson stated that China will accelerate the construction of key infrastructure for embodied intelligence, making efforts from both the training and application ends to promote high-quality development in this field.
The policy focuses on two main directions. First, it aims to expedite the construction of training infrastructure, enhance the capability of embodied data collection and support for "大小脑" model training, thereby improving the general capabilities of robots in various scenarios. Second, it promotes the construction of application pilot bases, perfects the hardware and software ecosystem, and breaks through the critical links from technology research and development to commercial implementation.
The NDRC clearly proposed that robots should move from laboratories and competition venues to factories, shopping malls, and home scenarios, accelerating their penetration into manufacturing, retail, services, and other industries.
Industry insiders believe that the policy emphasis implies that embodied intelligence has been elevated to a national industrial strategy direction, and related infrastructure investments are expected to accelerate. Upstream and downstream enterprises along the industry chain will usher in a new round of development opportunities.
