Huang Renxun Joins Trump's China Trip at the Last Moment
On May 13th, local time, the White House confirmed that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang would accompany Trump on his trip to China. Jensen Huang boarded Air Force One in Alaska on his way to China.
Previously, Jensen Huang publicly stated in an interview with CNBC that he would feel deeply honored to receive an invitation, and that it would be "a great honor" to represent the United States alongside President Trump in China.
According to a source, Trump called Jensen Huang after seeing media reports about Huang's absence from the delegation, inviting him to join the China visit. Nvidia stated in a declaration that Jensen Huang attended the summit at Trump's invitation to support the objectives of the United States and this administration.
A photo circulating on social media shows that Jensen Huang boarded the plane, the "Air Force One," during a refueling stop in Alaska, heading to China with Trump, along with another photo where he is seen in a leather jacket, waiting for his flight with a backpack on.
Prior to this, multiple media outlets had reported that Jensen Huang was not invited by the White House.
Nvidia's market share in China's AI chip market has dropped to nearly zero, and Jensen Huang's accompanying presence may imply that the semiconductor topic could be included in the core agenda of this high-level dialogue between China and the United States, potentially reigniting market expectations for Nvidia's return to the Chinese market.
