NVIDIA Partners with Wistron to Build Blackwell AI Server Factory in Texas

Wistron has opened a $700 million factory in Texas — its first U.S. manufacturing base — to mass-produce Nvidia Blackwell GPU modules and AI servers, marking a concrete step in shifting Nvidia's critical hardware supply chain from Taiwan to American soil.
What does this factory actually build?
The plant sits in Fort Worth, Texas, spanning roughly 30,000 square meters. It is Wistron's first facility serving U.S.-based customers.
At the opening, Wistron unveiled the first GB300 superchip module built on site. Production starts with Grace Blackwell-based AI servers; Vera Rubin products will follow.
This means → the site is not just an assembly shop. GPU modules, compute boards, and full servers are all manufactured locally — components that were previously made almost entirely in Taiwan.
Why is local GPU-module production the key breakthrough?
Wistron and Foxconn are the only two contract manufacturers that build Nvidia's critical GPU modules and boards. Capacity has long been concentrated in Taiwan.
In plain terms = the GPU module is the "heart" of an AI server. Moving its production stateside gives Nvidia far greater control over its own supply chain.
Foxconn's new Houston plant is also nearing completion and will begin operations shortly after Wistron's. Both Taiwanese firms accelerated their Texas expansion after last year's tariff policy shift.
How far along is the U.S.-based AI hardware supply chain?
TSMC is already mass-producing Nvidia Blackwell AI chips in Arizona and last week announced an additional $100 billion-plus multi-year investment to build at least four more fabs.
Wistron's and Foxconn's GPU-module capacity in Texas pairs with TSMC's wafer fabrication — wafers, modules, and finished servers are now landing on U.S. soil in parallel.
This reflects Nvidia's push to build a domestic supply loop that does not depend on a single offshore node. Whether this loop comes together on schedule will directly shape Nvidia's production capacity and delivery timeline.
What did the two leaders say?
Wistron Chairman Simon Lin: "In the coming years, this will be one of our most important bases for building AI infrastructure in America."
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang attended the opening: "Nvidia and Wistron are restoring advanced manufacturing in America, creating technology jobs, and strengthening the U.S. AI supply chain."
