TSMC April revenue up 17.5% YoY, AI spending supports advanced chip demand
TSMC announced its revenue for April 2026 on Friday, with a consolidated monthly revenue of approximately 410.726 billion New Taiwan dollars, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%, but a 1.1% decrease from March. For the first four months of 2026, TSMC's cumulative revenue was approximately 1.5448 trillion New Taiwan dollars, a year-on-year increase of 29.9%.

TSMC is at the core of the AI chip supply chain. According to a Bloomberg report, companies like Nvidia and AMD rely on it to manufacture advanced semiconductors, while large cloud computing companies continue to allocate substantial budgets for AI. Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft have allocated a combined expenditure of 725 billion USD for AI this year, which provides significant support for advanced process order bookings.
Analysts on average expect TSMC's revenue for the June quarter to grow by 35%, which is higher than the year-on-year growth rate of 17.5% in April, and also implies that May and June data will be the verification points. TSMC previously raised its full-year sales guidance in April and stated that capital expenditure may approach the upper end of the highest 56 billion USD forecast range.
