Unitree Robotics Partners with NVIDIA to Launch H2 Plus Humanoid Robot, Set for Release in H2 2025

Unitree Robotics and NVIDIA jointly unveiled H2 Plus, a humanoid robot reference design integrating the Jetson Thor compute platform and the Isaac GR00T development suite, with commercial launch planned for the second half of 2025 — a signal that humanoid robots are moving from lab prototypes to production-ready, compute-plus-body packages.
What exactly is H2 Plus?
H2 Plus is a humanoid robot reference design bundling four components: the Unitree H2 body, Sharpa five-finger dexterous hands, NVIDIA Jetson Thor — a compute chip purpose-built for robots — and the Isaac GR00T development platform.
In plain terms = it is not just hardware; it is a body + brain + dev-tools package that lets developers start training robot skills out of the box.
Unitree marketing director Huang Jiawei said the biggest upgrade from this collaboration is compute performance — the goal is to give the robot a more powerful "intelligent brain."
What role does NVIDIA play?
NVIDIA contributes two core modules: Jetson Thor handles real-time on-robot computation, while Isaac GR00T covers the full workflow from data collection and model training to deployment.
This means → NVIDIA is extending its AI-chip and dev-tool advantage into embodied intelligence — AI that lives in a physical body, not just on a screen.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced the partnership on June 1 at GTC Taipei. This reflects a step-up in NVIDIA's strategic commitment to the robotics track.
What does this mean for the industry?
Unitree founder and CEO Wang Xingxing said H2 Plus gives development teams "a validated starting point" for building robot skills and deploying them in real-world scenarios.
In plain terms = previously, building a humanoid robot meant stitching together hardware, compute, and dev tools on your own; now there is a ready-made, standardized platform that lowers the entry barrier significantly.
Huang Jiawei confirmed the product will launch commercially in H2 2025 and said Unitree hopes the data generated will feed back into future compute-platform iterations — This means → Unitree is betting not just on selling a robot, but on using data to accelerate the entire industry loop.
