US stocks open higher, chip stocks lead, Micron and Intel up over 5%

The US stock market kicked off with the three major indices opening higher, the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.52%, the S&P 500 index gained 0.3%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.2%.

Semiconductor stocks led the pack, with Micron Technology and Intel up by over 5% each, AMD up by over 4%, SanDisk and ASML up by over 3% each, Western Digital and Qualcomm up by over 1%.

Some Chinese concept stocks weakened, with Bilibili and贝壳 both falling by about 4%, and the NASDAQ Golden Dragon China Index down by 1.0%.

Hasbro and Target both declined by about 6%; the two companies had previously released their first-quarter financial reports.
