According to Bloomberg, the annualized revenue of the artificial intelligence programming software company, Cursor, surpassed $3 billion at the end of April, a significant leap from $2 billion in February this year, highlighting the continued warming demand for enterprise-level AI coding tools.

The sources mentioned above revealed that Cursor currently has over 3,000 enterprise clients, each with an annual payment scale of no less than $100,000.

Cursor, which launched its AI programming software in 2023, assists programmers in writing and debugging code more efficiently and has become one of the fastest-growing startups in the industry, becoming a core player in the so-called "vibe coding" era. This week, the company released the latest AI programming model, Composer 2.5, part of whose training process was completed with the help of SpaceX data centers.

Elon Musk's SpaceX had already reached an agreement with Cursor in April this year to acquire the company for $60 billion or to pay $10 billion as an alternative cooperation fee. SpaceX's IPO documents filed on Wednesday show that it will exercise the acquisition right within a 30-day window after going public. If the acquisition fails, Cursor will receive a cash breakup fee of $1.5 billion and a "deferred service fee" of $8.5 billion.

SpaceX is expected to go public on June 12th, and if the process goes smoothly, the acquisition of Cursor will be completed by July at the earliest. This acquisition will provide Cursor with massive computing power support and strengthen SpaceX's layout in the field of AI programming.
