According to Reuters, Alibaba plans to deeply integrate its AI large model platform, Tongyi Qianwen, with its core e-commerce business, Taobao. Citing informed sources, Reuters reports that this move is aimed at transforming the traditional "keyword search" model into a conversation-driven intelligent shopping experience.

In the future, users will be able to browse, compare, and order products directly within the Tongyi Qianwen App through chat, without the need to manually scroll through product listings. The application will have access to Taobao Tmall's full catalog of over 4 billion items and will be equipped with a "skill library" capable of handling logistics and after-sales service.

Tongyi Qianwen will also provide personalized shopping recommendations based on users' historical order records and preferences. Within the Taobao App, Alibaba will also launch an AI shopping assistant driven by Tongyi Qianwen, offering practical features such as virtual try-on and 30-day price tracking.

This strategic move highlights the difference in AI application logic between Chinese and Western e-commerce platforms: the Chinese e-commerce model tends to embed AI directly into the entire transaction chain, while platforms like Amazon in the U.S. remain cautious about AI autonomous ordering, and Shopify relies more on external plugins.

For investors, this means that Alibaba is reshaping the traffic entrance through AI Agent, attempting to increase user conversion rates and reduce service costs. This vertical integration capability could become key for Alibaba to maintain a leading position in the era of competition for market share.
