Fanuc Collaborates with Google to Develop AI Systems for Industrial Robots, Soaring up to 16% Intraday
According to Bloomberg, the Japanese industrial robot giant FANUC announced on Wednesday its collaboration with Alphabet-owned Google to develop a new AI system for industrial robots. After the announcement, shares of the robot arm manufacturer surged by 16%, reaching an intraday record high.

AI is moving from software and cloud-based models into robots, factory equipment, and industrial automation scenarios. The integration of Google Cloud tools and Gemini Enterprise into FANUC's robotic systems signifies that industrial hardware companies are beginning to acquire a new AI valuation narrative.
NVIDIA has already strengthened its cooperation with Asian companies in the direction of physical AI, and FANUC is also accelerating its physical AI advancement in the industrial robotics sector in relation to NVIDIA.
Ryoutarou Sawada, a senior analyst at Tokai Tokyo Intelligence Laboratory, stated that corporate participants have realized that the monetization of AI is crucial for survival.
"In Japan, there is more to come. It's not just FANUC and Yaskawa; robots and other hardware fields will be affected. The theme of physical AI will definitely expand."
