Meta quietly launches a new Reddit-like application called Forum
Meta Platforms has recently quietly launched a new application called Forum, allowing users to select topics of interest and custom tailor their information feed by setting what content they want to see more or less of. According to the App Store page, these recommendations are based on user account activity and are curated and summarized by AI.

Unlike the Facebook main timeline, the main interface of Forum primarily focuses on discussion topics within the user's groups. Upon first login, the application asks about preferred content types, which could be used to recommend more group posts that match their interests in the future.
This application incorporates multiple AI capabilities. Among them, the “Ask” feature can extract answers from multiple groups, eliminating the need for users to search for relevant information group by group; another AI-driven management assistant targets group administrators, assisting moderators in content management and order maintenance.
The launch of Forum may also indicate a larger new application plan for Meta. According to a company-wide meeting recording reviewed by The Information, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned last month that he had discussed with Chief Product Officer Chris Cox about creating up to 50 new applications.
