Trump: Will Stop 'Epic Wrath' Action If Iran Complies
President Trump of the United States released a significant signal about the Middle East situation on May 6th through social media. He clearly stated that if Iran is willing to fulfill the content of the agreement that has been reached between the two sides, the U.S. military operation code-named "Epic Fury" will officially come to an end.
This statement implies that the 67-day U.S.-Iran armed conflict may be facing a turning point. Trump emphasized in his post that along with the cessation of military actions, the previously highly effective blockade will also be lifted accordingly. At that time, the Strait of Hormuz, a global energy throat, will be fully open to all countries including Iran.
However, this ceasefire intention comes with extremely tough additional conditions. Trump warned that if Iran refuses to fulfill the relevant terms, the bombing operations of the U.S. military will immediately start again. He particularly emphasized that the scale and intensity of the next phase of attacks will be far higher than before.

Although the ceasefire window seems to be open, the foundation of mutual trust between the two sides remains fragile. According to The New York Post, Trump said in an interview on Wednesday morning that it is too early to consider face-to-face peace talks between U.S. and Iranian leaders. He believes the current situation is still extremely complex, and there is no need to arrange media to report on a new round of talks in Pakistan.
Trump had previously expressed respect for the efforts of Pakistan's Minister of Defense Munir to promote U.S. contacts with Tehran and claimed to be willing to go to Pakistan to sign an official agreement.
