WeRide released its financial report for the first quarter of 2026 on May 13th, with total revenue reaching 114 million yuan (approximately 16.5 million US dollars), a year-over-year increase of 57.6%. Among this, product revenue was 20.5 million yuan, a year-over-year increase of 115.8%, primarily from the sale of Robotaxis and other L4-level vehicles; service revenue was 93.7 million yuan, a year-over-year increase of 49.0%.

The gross profit increased by 56% year-on-year to 39.6 million yuan, with a gross margin of 35%. The loss per ADS was 0.06 US dollars, and the net loss was 389.1 million yuan, slightly wider than the 385.1 million yuan from the same period last year; the net loss adjusted under non-IFRS was 326.2 million yuan, compared to 294.6 million yuan from the previous year.

Robotaxi Commercialization Scale Continues to Expand

The Robotaxi business is the most noteworthy development of this quarter.

In the first quarter, the number of registered users for WeRide's Robotaxi in China was about double that of the same period last year, with an average of over 17 orders per vehicle per day in China, rising to 28 orders during peak times.

Currently, WeRide's global Robotaxi fleet size is about 1,300 vehicles, and the company plans to deploy 200,000 Robotaxi and other autonomous driving vehicles over the next five years.

L2++ Solution Accelerates Mass Production, Wins Nearly 30 Vehicle Model Spots

Beyond L4, WeRide's one-piece end-to-end ADAS solution for the L2++ segment, WRD 3.0, is also accelerating its implementation.

It has already secured nearly 30 vehicle model spots and the first mass-produced passenger car, the Aion N60, in collaboration with GAC Aion, has been officially launched. Vehicles equipped with WRD 3.0 have also achieved an unprecedented "four-peat" victory in China's Smart Driving Competition.

WeRide positions itself as the only company in the world to achieve scale commercial applications of both L4-level autonomous driving and L2++ assisted driving, and this dual-track strategy is becoming the core of its differentiated competition.

As the Robotaxi user base doubles and the efficiency of individual vehicle orders continues to increase, the commercialization path is gradually becoming clear - but when it will cross the break-even line remains the most pressing question for the market.
